Audit for friction, not failure

Back to the archive

Here’s a truth I’ve learned (and re-learned) a hundred times:Most people don’t need more systems. They just need their existing ones to be easier to use.

ADHD brains crave friction-free systems, because the tiniest barrier (“where does this go again?” or “I’ll organize that later”) can make the whole thing collapse.

So this week’s tip:

👉 Audit for friction, not failure.

Instead of scrapping a “broken” system, look for what’s tripping you up.

  • Is there a step that takes too long?

  • A tool that feels clunky?

  • A habit you’re forcing when your brain clearly resists it?

Remove or adjust that single point of friction.Sometimes a system starts working again simply because you stopped over-engineering it.

Your system should make your life lighter, not heavier.
