Is your system fighting your brain?
You keep building systems that don't stick.
You set them up with the best intentions. You follow all the advice. And then... nothing. They fall apart within a week or two.
But here's the thing: The problem isn't you.
The problem is that you're building systems designed for a different operating system.
Most productivity advice, most systems, most "best practices" are built for neurotypical brains. And when you try to run them on an ADHD brain? They don't just fail - they actively fight you.
So how do you know if a system is fighting your brain?
Here are the red flags:
1. You're spending more time ON the system than IN it.
If you're constantly tweaking, reorganizing, or "fixing" the system instead of actually using it, that's a sign it's not built for how your brain works.
2. You're very carefully ignoring it.
You know it's there. You know you "should" use it. But opening it feels impossible, so you just... don't. And then you feel guilty about it.
3. You bought it part and parcel from someone else and tried to squeeze yourself into it.
Someone else's perfect system is not your perfect system. If you're contorting yourself to fit into a framework that wasn't designed for your brain, it's going to break down.
Systems that work WITH your brain feel different. They're easier to maintain than to avoid. They reduce friction instead of adding it. They fit your actual life, not your ideal life.
